What's our favorite air filter now?

We like to dig into oil filters a lot. Don't see too many air filter threads.

What is the best paper type stock replacement air filter for dirt removal now? I'm not interested in the reusable type like K&N.

I’ve been using Fram for decades with no problems…AFAIK.

I've pretty much stuck with the Honda factory filters, seem well constructed and contain very lightly oiled pleated woven elements. I used to occasionally use Wix but not in recent years.

What I do with those is treat them like they're not reusable.

Like @Speedy3861, I'm going to stick to OEM. Have new intake and premium cabin air filters, ready for their first change next OCI.

I have posted a few examples but I would say the overall most consistent is Denso now.

Fram was OK but I think there going away.

No one publishes efficiency and such so I am not sure how to really compare them other than build quality.

Depends on the OEM. Many are not so great.

Whatever I catch on sale from Walmart or Amazon. Buy a few and stock em on the garage shelf, alongside CAF's, oil, and oil filters.

Nissan OEM are made by Mahle and are not great. I had the foam on one fail - posted it here. Mahle makes filters for many OEM's. I am sure the BMW owners will argue but I wouldn't put anything Mahle in a vehicle I owed anymore.

WIx and Purolator (M&H) also make filters for many brands and I wouldn't be in a rush to take those either.

Ok ya got my attention. I have a 2025 Nissan Frontier. VQ38DD. The OME filter cost $ 39.99 . Yeah Nissan’s name is on the box. lol. Point me in a direction with two makes you would consider replacing the OME with. Thank you.

I just bought a few Hengst from RA, they appear to be high quality, made in Poland.
