What's my old MTD mower worth? pics inside

I bought a new nower this Spring. I often had difficulty mulching 22" with 3.75 HP. We are having a Garage Sale Friday. I cleaned up the old mower. It's a 12 yr old MTD: 22" mulcher/side discharge, 3.75 HP B&S. I spent ~$30 in upgrades last year:

Mulching Plug: $15
DiamondFire E3 Plug: $7
Air Cleaner/Filter: $6
Muffler: $2

It starts on the first pull every time. I have all original Owner's Manuals. How much should I ask for it? Attached are some before and after pics: (it was cloudy -- otherwise the shine would be much better

)

Since the cleaning, I've also touched up a few paint chips.

TRy 50bucks for starters and see how high/low it can go...

Best of luck to you. I'm a good ole fashioned guy and will only go as far as a 1.50 plug called RCJ8 on all small/older B&S.

Yep -- I missed the inside of the wheels. I was thinking of starting at $35. Maybe I'll start higher. The typical shopper around here expect 50% off -- even if the item is 50 cents to begin with.

The DiamondFire was an impulse buy. I have noticed slightly less fuel consumption with it. I also got one for my Stihl trimmer. I noticed nothing there -- no quicker starts, etc.

Start at $50 and see what happens. Don't let them give you a hard time about washing and waxing. I have old Lawn-Boys that I collect and use and I wash them after every mowing and put a good coat of wax on them every year. Nothing wrong with taking care of your equipment.

Thanks for your support. I put a coat of Turtle Wax Ultra Titanium Wax on the new Cub Cadet -- the day I brought it home.

I was hoping to get at minimum $20-25 for the old mower. My starting price is $40.

This proves what I've always said about oil and grease and dirt. It's a great paint protector! Just look at how well it preserved the finish!

That mower looks to be worth $40. You should be able to get what you want for it...

i give away better mowers than that

consider $25 good for the clean up
bought a '55 Ford once that had been spit polished like that
blew a rod out the side of the block the next week

Wow! What a difference! Great job waxing and detailing, I can even see the reflection of the exhaust in the paint. I would pay $40 for that mower.

UPDATE: I ended up taking $20 for it. I wanted it gone, and he was the only guy to look at it. We only had the sale 1 day. He also bought an old sub -- that's why I cut him the deal.
