I have a sort-of excuse, though.

My bought stash is about half a 5L jug of CPC 40W, an unopened 5L of Delvac MX 15/40, and a few 1L bottles of 2 and 4 stroke motorcycle oil (Yamalube and Mobil, mostly.).

Modest in this company, though rather unnecessary.

However, I FOUND a biggish load, maybe 50 or so 1 litre bottles of a variety of 2 and 4 stroke engine oils, and about 10 litres of sunflower oil, in a derelict shipping container shed on campus.

I don't know what they were there for, but there's some kind of fire research unit on campus, and I think the shed had been used by them. I've seen them doing something like flashpoint-testing, but I don't know the real story since no one I've asked about it who might know spoke enough English to know what I was talking about, or answer.

Since the school were clearing that area I helped myself. Later I had to clear them out so I disposed of maybe 8-10L in sun-damaged containers (the plastic goes brittle), and stashed most of the rest in a drum in the jungle. (Hey, a jungle drum :))

The stuff is probably pretty old but I don't think oil in sealed containers goes off even in the jungle. The problem is I don't drive much and hardly ride at all now so it'll be quite a while before it gets used, if indeed it ever does.

You guys must really take advantage of sales.

I just have a couple qts of PHM in both 5w30 and 10w40 flavour, a quart of rotella 15w40, two quarts of amsoil 20w50, two qts of 5w30 M1 HM and a couple quarts of bar and chain oil.

I try to limit my stash to about 20 qts or 2 oil changes [I maintain 2 cars]. I buy any oil that meets specifications. I am not convinced there is any difference form one brand to the next. House brand or name brand, whatever is on sale.

Do you use the same principle in purchasing fuel and only buy what you need each day?
After all, why tie your money up in inventory?
Let the gas stations do it for you.

71.5 litres of Total Quartz 9000 Energy 0W-30

1 jug of M1 5w30 HM
10 quarts of napa synthetic 5w30
8 quarts of napa synthetic 10w30
1 quart of eneos 0w20
3 quarts of M1 ATF

I don't keep a whole lot, it's easier to wait a couple months before an oil change for a sale at Wal-Mart. Maybe if Autozone does their sale I'll pick something up. I have a little on hand:

3 gal Rotella T6 0w40 (Was gonna use this in the Jetta, but meh. Probably will go in the Expedition)
2 quart Castrol Edge 0w30
8 quart Castrol Edge 0w40 (5qt jug and a partial)

'Bout a 3 year supply consisting of

16 quarts Schaeffer 9000 5w30

8 quarts Amsoil SS 0w40

12 quarts Amsoil SS 5w30

Well since i brought back all the Pennzoil and started using Mobil Super and Mobil 1 i only have 7 containers of Mobil 1 and 2 containers of Mobil Super High Mileage.

I got most of the Pennzoil on sale and when i sent it back to wal mart i got full price on most of it but they gave me a store credit at the customer service desk which i used to but the Mobil..

I did the opposite. I returned my Mobil 1, most of it bought from WMT to WMT and ordered some PU online from them.

I don't understand either one of you guys.
I have plenty of SOPUS and M1 oils in my stash.
Both brands will get used up.
If you have something on hand, why not just use it?
Why go to the trouble of returning it for store credit and then buying more oil of your now preferred brand.
Between any SOPUS synthetic and equivalent XOM synthetic, I'd be hard pressed to see any reason to prefer any flavor of either. They're all that good as are many other oils.

All conventional except the 76, which is semi syn.

Off the top of my head... 30 or so quarts of ST 5w20 synthetic, 25 quarts of ST dino 5w30, 10 quarts of 5w30 Mobil 5000 and a few other miscellaneous quarts.

i returned mine because i think Mobil is superior to Pennzoil.. I also like the idea that Mobil lists their pds on their website for all their oils and they are up to date not like "some" companies so its easy to find and i also like the double seals mobil uses on their oil containers..
In a couple of months i will post some uoa's..

Maybe this will help with me. Some of mine was returned for cash, not that it matters, store credit would have been fine. My reason was because Mobil 1 doesn't meet the spec for my 2016 Jeep, PU does. I wanted one oil to use in all three of my vehicles, and I wanted the mfg. spec oil for the new one, PU fit the bill. I don't care about foil seals, or bottle shapes. With regard to PDS, 'odds are' what's on the Pennzoil site is current, even though it's a few years old. To think otherwise is also speculation. UOA's on this site made me feel like the choice was a wise one. I have nothing against Mobil 1, had it met the MS6395 spec I would have stuck with it. I was very satisfied with it. The remaining Mobil 1 products I have will get used up.

Maybe one day if Mobil 1 meets the MS6395 spec it will find its way back into my stash. I have no desire to use Mobil Super which meets the spec, but that's just me.
