In addition to busters' UFO post on New Years Day,

UFO at O'Hare

now we have:

Round, metal mystery object crashes into home

and,

Mystery deepens over missing plane

"Golf ball-sized object weighs nearly as much as a can of soup"

What idiot came up with that comparison? What about stating dimensions and mass instead?

Amazing how stories can disagree on the facts.

From Airdisaster.com:

The Adam Air Boeing 737 carrying 102 people sent out two distress signals in stormy weather Monday...

Global Warming

I love Global Warming, it's giving us one heck of a "winter" in Toronto! So far we've only gotten 1/2 inch of snow, and our temps are incredibly warm. It's 53F and sunny here right now. Normal temp for this time of year is 28F! And it's been warmer than normal like this for weeks now, and the two week forecast still shows above normal temps, and no risk of snow.

BTW, in my recent comment above about Global Warming, truth be told, the warm weather in Toronto has absolutely nothing to do with Global Warming. It's just a normal weather cycle, global warming might be raising the overall average temperature by one degree (which is still something to be concerned about in the longterm) but it's certainly not the sole reason why Toronto is having a spring like winter so far.

It's El Nino (Neenyio); pushes the polar jet farther north along with the southern branch of the jet in North America.

Yep! I keep telling everyone here that, but they keep saying it's Global Warming. It is fun to blame Global Warming though.

And it's fragging freezing here. We had sub 20's and lots of snow and floods in November.......and December...and wind too. Lots of wind.

Thank you for enduring this part of the short term climate changes. You and other regions that traditionally have better weather during this time of the year. My oil man is so grateful to receive my budget check ..that's added on to my high plus-side balance ..since I'm still on my 1st tank of heating oil ..while I'd normally be on my 3rd by now.

I appreciate your contribution to this relief effort for the northeast

Source for El Nino's energies (which are more numerous and bigger and more rubust)...=GlobalWarming

Oh and you better get to Washington DC. The Cherry Blossums are out 3+ months early

Prob nothing, like that summer where all you heard about on the news was shark attacks, though that year there were no more than any other.

It's whatever outliers media wants to bring to the surface.
