online denso like $8, rnn 8,000 miles , 4000 OCI
or local purolator classic , change oil and filter at 4000 miles
cost is same
which is "mo bettah"?

Denso filters have a unique construction that doesn't use end caps. Hard to say if it's better, worse, or just different. They supposedly filter well enough, but Purolators are a known good filter and are easy to find pretty much anywhere.

The Purolator Classic is a good filter....but with the great rebates that Purolator has going right now....why not upgrade to a PureOne instead of the Classic. The PureOnes should cost you less than $3.00 each (after the rebate). If you purchase four....you'll recieve a $12 rebate.

Print the rebate form at: www.pureoil.com

The Denso's I use for my Honda (150-1010) Is one of the best filters I have cut open. I cut open all of my used filters and have used most major after market filters. The 150-1010 has metal endcaps and solid construction with more pleat area than Puro classic or Pure One equivalents ie 14610.

Denso is of higher quality than Purolator on my vehicle specified size of filter.

After trying 5 different filters on my 1NZFE, the factory Japan Denso with foam media was #1, Delco (non ecore) rated #2 the Wix a close #3 and then, nothing else made the grade including purolator, fram, hastings, napa silver, bosch. I didnt like the Denso Thailand filters in operation (these are 4 buck filters not eight!) though their construitcion is first rate. The 1nzfe has a VERY touchy vvti as does the 2AZfe. May rating does not include filtering ability - but rater general engine operation and performance and cold start noise.

It is not paper and what is wrong with fiber end caps?

It really won't matter. The filter you use through out the engines will not be noticed. The only thing that really matters is if the filter company will rebuild the engine if the filter fails and over the years I have found all brands of filters do fail. not often but they do.
