I keep seeing "e-core" popping up around here.

What is an "e-core" filter?

How does a normal layman identify an "e-core" from other types of metal spin-on filters?

ooohhh yeah...I had a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado and saw this when I was inspecting AC Delco, STP, and SuperTech filters before doing oil changes...I couldn't get any info about it at the time and didn't trust it so I switched to Purolator
