Going to buy a 17 to 20' flag pole. I want to get something that's quality and isn't going to blow over in 65mph winds with the flag up. I don't plan on leaving it up for big storms, but what if I'm out of town?

Any suggestions folks?

Buying a ready made kit will kill you on price and shipping. Go to your local hardware store and buy a good thick walled 24 ft. galvanized pole. A 4 ft hole with Quikrete or similar should hold it nicely. I'll leave the rigging to the experts.

My house came with a flagpole made of galv pipe. Had about a 2 inch diameter bottom then a reducer halfway up to a 1 inch pipe. This way you can put a monkey wrench on the whole pole and remove it for whatever reason.

I bought my 20' pole from a local company 25 years ago; quality aluminum pole and hardware.
I have moved twice since then, and taken it with me on each move.
I recommend you spend the money and get a good unit and you'll not be disappointed.
Any internet search should turn up some local sources in your area.
