I've always wondered how Freddie Mercury ever came to write a song titled "Fat Bottom Girls".

It's amazing that they had so much influence, yet they were only together for 2 years.

I can't recall the first one I purchased with my own money, but the first my family ever bought (with my strong encouragement) was "Whipped Cream and Other Delights" by Herb Alpert and the Tijauan Brass.

I have this LP as well.
The poster was a very pleasant surprise and I may still have it.
Fat bottom girls indeed!
This thread has all kinds of tracks running through my head as I recall listening to the many LPs I bought back in the day.
You still hear a lot of this music on the radio if you listen to the right stations, as I do when I want to hear something loud with which I can sing along.

Well, the band did have one really outstanding member of whom you may have heard.
Strange brew!

C'est Chic from Chic back in '78. I think my 2nd was "Briefcase Full of Blues" from the Blues Brothers.

I vividly remember jamming both of these on my parent's RCA wood-grained record player.

Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and some other guy.

Yeah, Eric Clapton, but I haven't liked any of his original stuff since Derek and the Dominos. I saw him appear as a special guest on Jeff Beck's "Live at Ronnie Scott's" CD. He can still play the blues.

I saw a show on Showtime a couple of weeks ago entitled "Beware Mr. Baker", which was a biography of Ginger Baker. He was a fantastic drummer, but egotistical and nasty to the point where he actually punched the guy that was producing his biography.
