I have a 2014 Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi Tradesman with the manual shift 4x4 lever on the floor. What type of transfer case fluid does it take? Is it the ATF+4? Thanks

I had no idea there were still 1/2 ton trucks with manual transfer cases! That's a good thing.

If it just is a part time transfer case (no 4 full time/ "automatic" or AWD options), it can use anything that is a light oil - safely. DexIII, ATF+4, expensive 8 speed auto transmission fluid ... etc.

But ATF+4 is cheap enough and probably what is called for

It should be ATF+4. You can probably go online and download an owners manual for it if you don't have one.

It's a 2500HD . Not a 1/2 ton

According to the Amsoil vehicle lookup on their site it takes their Synthetic Multi Vehicle ATF which has the ATF +4 spec.
Thanks Dealer wants $159.99 to change, what a rip! I can do this myself with two quarts .

Or AAP has Castrol ATF+4 for $4.00 a quart until the end of the month.
