Remember methadent? The redline/amsoil of toothpaste
I used Mentadent for years, is that what you mean?
I now buy really big tubes of the basic Crest toothpaste and they last for a LONG time, even though I brush every day.
My dentists always used to recommend a hydrogen peroxide toothpaste for my gums, but either I got them into tip top shape or that type of product is no longer in vogue as I have not been pushed that way in several years. My doctor in my HS years told me to rinse my mouth with hydrogen peroxide solution and I also did that for a long time.
