5 years or so ago, discussions with Mobil techs, they admitted same, but didn't recommend it.

Wynns were testing M1 in their fleet at one stage, and found it lasted pretty much forever with filter changes (and thus regular replenishment of a fair amount of oil with a 30005 sized filter)

But since the average driver won't or can't do that it becomes unrealistic. My friend does his 15K OCI on one filter and no oil added.

Didnt M1 switch there base stocks over to a Group III after hurricane Katrina? And some where I read that M1 still is using a group III base stocks...the american version anyway.

Depends on average...his 15k, if done in around a year is probably fine on a decent oil.

I do annual on my Nissan, (or 15 months at times), as 10,000km is a bit over a year, with good results...now I believe from UOA, 20,000 would be fine on that engine, provided it was completed in a reasonable timeframe.

Synpower actually Group III and IV blend(can see it from their FAQ) that's why it has lower noack when compared to QSUD

Grp 3+, 4, and 5 blend. One of the best stocks. Allso the MRV of M1 0-20 is 9200 indicating a superior base stock.
