2016 Mazda CX3 takes the tiny Fram #6607 - it's in a odd recessed angle to remove thus I can't get a good grip on it with oil filter pliers... Anyone know what size oil removal flute this would use with a ratchet ?
*Did I say this oil filter was tiny ?

Just buy one of the 3 finger ones (something like this).
I have several of the cap wrenches for different size filters (2 of the same size for the Ford 820s size because of the number of flutes on it).
If I had just bought the 3 finger one, it would be the only one I need.

But to answer the question, a 64/65mm/14 flute cap wrench that you need (like this one) (although I have heard some say you need a 65/67mm due to small difference in some filters, which is why I said to get a 3 finger one).

Go to O'Reilly, or where ever, take one outta the box, and get the right cup wrench.
I love my channel locks, but sometime having the perfect tool makes all the difference.

Good luck.

Outside diameter of filter is 2-11/16 inch. I recommend the Swivoil 3324D band wrench. It will go down to a diameter of 2-1/2 inch.

These will work on any filter and you can use them on other jobs as well. This is what I've used on various vehicles over the years.

I had the one looks like this Tekton Groove Plier but from Harbor Freight, plier for oil filter.
Cheap less than $10.

or you can get the locking type:

My goto filter wrench until I had the Toyota with Cartridge filter.
I still use it for the Suburban.

Walmart sells a Hyper Tough 65-67mm "F" cap wrench that fits the Fram 6607 filters perfectly.

It also fits the Wix 57002 slightly less well, but adequately.

Its fit on the Mazda 1WPE-14-302 is somewhat sloppy, but might be okay. I haven't used it to take that filter off, so I can't guarantee that it won't slip.

Good suggestions - however space is tight getting to the mazda oil filter ... Looks like I'll have to take my Fram Ultra in to see if I can find the correct oil filter flute .
