What sites for legal, free MP3's?

I would like to know where I can get free mp3's that are legal. I dont expect the top 40 list is legal to download, mainly indies.... . Where do you guys get your music downloads at and share tips if you have any. I tried Limewire out and dont like the fact I could get sued using it?

do a google search for live music. sharingthegroove.org is up and down alot, but when it works, it's legal, and they have lots of cool concerts that can be downloaded. it's not for the faint of heart as you need to use BitTorrent and a Shorten-format (like WAV files, but a smaller data amount) unpacker. It works great when it works.

Live music generally isn't copyrighted. In fact, one thing I really liked about that site is that ANYTHING illegal was completely kicked off that site. They kept it clean. I like that.
