i got a 2002 honda civic non vtec my daily driver i put syntec in there is 0w30 gc a thick oil for it its recommend oil is 5-20. and i got a Lincoln navigator gets very little use is a one year oci good for it using castrol syntec 5-30 it gets about 3k a year and i got a bmw m5 the new baby what oil should i use for it. it will get maybe 2k a year i get free maint. on it but i dont trust the steallers

i plan to keep these cars for a very long time since i plan on having a collection of cars i service all my cars myself since i am a appertince mechanic just finshed school in january i am 19 so i dont got 2 much money to waste on amsoil on all these cars so dont recommend it

the bmw has a v10 and its a 07 and the navigator has a 5.4l and its a 06 they all have a large oil capacity 6L+ i think

I would use regular Mobil 1 in the proper viscosity for each car as per manufactures recomendation. If that is to pricey for you next best choice is the Penzoil Platium synthetic. It is on sale at auto zone 2 quarts for the price of 1.

i really dont make that much only 55k a year but its my first year here you can make 220k+ working in alberta. my dad bought these cars and he likes to drive his ugly #@$%! chevy lumina which has 400k but its still running orginal engine and transmission been through 3 water pumps and 2 fuel pumps

i know he ran that lumina hard all he uses is castrol gtx his engine is shinny golden brown its in better shape then my honda which was also his car i plan on trying to keep my cars in the same condtion im gonna run pennz plat i think and german castrol in the honda as it gets the most milage and i really dont need to worry about the other 2 they get very limited use

I'm gonna run Pennzoil Platinum, I think. German Castrol in the Honda, as it gets the most mileage. I really don't need to worry about the other two, they get very limited use.

I don't know about what oil to use in Vancouver, but I highly recommend the period as a punctuation mark. It'll make your posts a lot easier to read.

Other choices, easily available on your local keyboard, are "," and ";".

Problem is, I know a few people who talk that way too... Just one big 'run on' sentence.

Hmmmm...
An apprentice mechanic, teenager, not much money, but an '07 Beemer. Times sure have changed since I was a teen. At any rate, the BMW and Castrol relationship goes back quite far. Read the owners manual, and use whatever the recommended weight of oil it calls for from the Syntec line. The Beemer will outlast your love for it, and Syntec will do fine.

here is what a quick google search turned up for you your mileage may vary and i'm certain that BMW has verified the 15000 mile interval as acceptable

from BMW Service Information Bulletin 11 06 01, October 2001

BMW has changed their engine-oil recommendation for all M cars equipped with the new S54 engine (E46 M3 coupe and convertible, 2001-on M coupe and M roadster) from the previous BMW High Performance Synthetic 5w30 engine oil (made by Castrol), pn 07 51 0 017 866 (1 quart), to Castrol TWS Motorsport 10W-60 Synthetic Engine Oil (previously known as Castrol Formula RS 10W-60. . . the oil is the same, only the name has changed) pn 07 51 0 009 420 (1 liter).

Presently, BMW recommends Castrol TWS Motorsport 10W-60 for all S54-equipped M-cars as well as all S62-equipped M5s and Z8s produced after 3/00, the factory recommends BMW High Performance Synthetic 5w30 engine oil. The oil change interval of approximately 15,000 miles or once a year remains unchanged.

IMHO, GC is too thick for a Civic. I'd go with either a 5W-20 or 0W-20 oil for your Honda. You didn't mention how many miles you run your oil for. If it's up to say 5,000 miles I'd just stick with a conventional Xw-20 oil or a semi-synthetic. If you want to run the oil longer, go with a synthetic.

A one-year OCI of about 3,000 miles sounds fine for the Syntec, although even here I'm thinking you probably don't even need to use a synthetic oil. Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w30 (or 5W-20 if Lincoln allows it) will be fine.

As others have mentioned, this engine likely has very specific oil requirements, I would stick with them.

i guess ill put in pennz plat in the navigator and civic and ill let the stealers take care on the m5 because the oil for it can only be bought from dealers special bmw blend and i read on a bmw fourm that the m engines are really really picky about the oils

Thats 55k in canadian dollars, not 'murican money. If my dad had a lumina that went 400k I would [a]not think of it as a POS not ask anybody a #@$%! thing about oil, because if he can get 400k out of that POS he IS doin things right.
