Does it use/burn some oil?

Has the engine been rebuilt?

not sure if the engine was rebuilt.and no it does not go threw oil.it runs very smooth and is very quite for 215k on it so maybe it was rebuilt.i just got it a few months ago so i don't know to much about it.
some of the gaskets on the engine sticks out like rtv so im assuming it was taken apart before.but not really sure

I think that Jimmy came with three different engines. I'd use 5w-30 in the smaller ones, and 10w-30 in the larger V-6.

Most modern oils would work well for this application. I see that Pep Boys still has the 5 quarts of Shell Formula oil with a filter for $10.00, that's a good oil and would work well for you.

+1 on the Pep Boys Shell oil/filter for $10.00. It's a good oil (as are the SM-rated oils) and ideal for what you're doing.

For all of $20 you've got clean and rinse cycles handled. I'd also use 10w30, especially in NJ with your winter weather. Visit another Pep Boys store, or that one another day, and you have four oil changes handled. AutoRx says just use dino oil, the lowest cost is fine. SM grade oils are all pretty amazing products.

Purolator makes the Proline filters. Shell oil (SOPUS) owns/makes Pennzoil, Quaker State and Shell oils (top to bottom ranking, very, very loosely applied

buy the jug of pennzoil hi mileage at wal mart for 12bucks...dirt cheap and it is pennzoil
