Ody's don't suffer transmission problems. That is 10 year old news at its last occurrence. Folks here get excited about VCM stuff but I have not heard of a single recent Pilot or Ody owners I know (12 families).

If I were in the market for new family vehicle (have 3 kids) Ody or Sienna whichever was best to me. Chrysler only if used with idea of repairing as they drop like rocks in value for good reason, quality and bits not quite up to Ody/Sienna.

OP/Grampi,
what MadRiver said!

also:
-you can take the missus on a Saturday and go and try/test local offerings
-Sienna seems to best in reviews, with T&C also(because of quantity sold), Ody than Quest.
-look also at the Ford Connect Wagon/Ram passenger versions...
-i take it you want new with 10+ years of use
-do you need snow tires? wheels/tires are a little bit more expensive on the new minivans.

-there is also the use of another MPV in good standing (they are out there) since the price is rock-bottom, use for 4-5 years till' you find something nice for the missus.

I heard somewhere that the Venza is built on a Camry platform. Transit Connect is FWD only. They handle well for a mini van. Not so good in snow,
