I bet anyone stumbling on this site will be flabbergasted to find anyone has an "oil stash," LOL.
But yeah, I am stocking up on Pennzoil Ultra 5W30 while I still can. I currently have 3 5QT jugs and 1 QT jug, but I'll be getting 2 more of the former and a 6 QT case of the latter within the next few weeks. It's a few years' worth of oil changes, but it's worth it to me because it's getting harder to find and I am going to be starting my own business at the first of the year, and I won't have as much disposable income to pay premium prices for it if folks don't start stocking it. This way, I get oil changes to roughly 40,000 miles for $21 per (price for the dealership to do the work and provide the filter). That should last me 3-4 years or so.
The 6 QT case will give me some extra to top off with in addition to rounding out the extra 3/4 quart above 5 quarts for each oil change.
But yeah, I am stocking up on Pennzoil Ultra 5W30 while I still can. Exchanged all but the Edge (wifes car) for Valvoline MAXlife 5w30. So now I have 11 jugs of it on hand. For some reason I feel accomplished, lol.

How true that is! Yeah, it just looks impressive from a volume standpoint, but when you have the perspective of how it is used, the dynamics change. And that's right... at 10 gallons an oil change, 55 gallons is like someone else having a couple of cases of oil for their pickup.

I have maybe eight quarts of SM Mobil 1 0W-40 that will be used for spring time oil changes(mixed with Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w20 I'm yet to buy)... Also around 10 quarts of 10W-40 QS Defy for the older stuff and I think four gal of Rotella 10w30 for the ones I beat on...
There are no doubt a odd quart, or two, or three etc in the garage as well, I don't keep up with actual numbers...

Well said 2010_FX4!! My thoughts exactly. Although I still currently have over 250 quarts of various brands, I have donated well over 100 quarts as well. And I too was bitten by the BITOG bug just a couple of years ago (2011)! I can only imagine what my garage would look like if I had caught it years earlier.
Speaking for myself, nearly all of the oil that I have cost less than 70% of the full retail price with some of it being FAR (the Spirax was not, but that is a different story). So in essence, I save money in the long run by buying oil when it is cheap or free. I have only started this in the past year or so but have built up my stash very quickly. The other thing that I do on a regular basis is "share" my good fortune with others so there are some donations that happen from my stash as well.
