I am so tired of wasteing time on the internet just to get no place. It never fails to amaze me how many companies have pages that completely miss the point of haveing a web page on the internet!!!!SALES!!!!!SALES!!!!!oh and more SALES!!!!!! I mean when did it become fashionable to not take someones money in exchange for product? Is this a European idea??? Lets just tease the $hit out of the yanks and go have a beer down at the pub!!?!?!

So I google Ligui Moly and I get all kinds of European web pages from the UK,NZ,Russia,Germany you name it. I take the time to read the German page and the Russian page do you think I could find a sales page or page with priceing????Nope!!! So then I focus on the NZ page since it is in English and I am best at English again nothing. Bizrate,Shopzilla,Google,Yahoo nothing! So it would appear they either have the single worst distribution network on earth or the worst marketing on the planet???

Just the other day I was wanting to try some routers currently only carried by major carriers in this country rebranded for them. In Europe though the company sells under their own name. I wanted to try a few and see how well they took to a generic aftermarket firmware. Do you think I could order one as Joe Blow nope. I had to call Japan and talk to a bunch of different people then Tawain just to be sent back to Japan only to be sent to the factory in China! I was like wow no wounder they can not sell these things inthis country they do not know how to move their product! It amazes me that the major cable carriers are able to even get their orders in a timely fashion!!!

What happened to I want to buy 100 of those how much? Followed by "that will be $1200.00+ tax and import duties."!How soon can I get them "We can get them to you in 15 days!" WOW thanks!

I hear on ya on this issue. There are many products that are popular, but you cannot simply put them in an Internet shopping cart and checkout. Try searching for something relatively simple like Mobil ATF 3309 for instance. You'll get tons of Mobil company pages about the product and no where to purchase it. I found only one place I could buy it from without doing a half hour search.

Companies are missing out on millions by not offering the option of a simple web transaction to buy a product.

I hear you too. Frustrates the heck out of me when I want to spend money somewhere and they cannot figure out how to sell it to me! Happens to me all the time at work. On small stuff, okay, I can understand some hassle. Fine. What irritates me more is when I'm trying to spend a few hundred grand on something and I get the same treatment! Jeez. Do you want my money or not?

The internet is a massive wasteland of webpages selling stuff that don't sell stuff. If you advertise something on the internet and don't have at least a link to pricing, you're stupid.

Funny you mention Liqui Moly. I just got some in the UPS today from Performance Products. They've got a very nice online catalog *and* ordering system.

Yeah, I'm equally mystified by this phenomenon. Sometimes a webpage won't contain any information about a product's dealers, distributors, prices, contact information, etc. No sales? Commerce is what drives business, and they're sitting in "park."

Or how about those fancy webpages with animation, but nothing clickable? No background information whatsoever. Totally worthless website. They should at least say, "website is under development" and provide an estimated date of completion.

kd.... a "few hundred grand?" Hey, I don't have a website but for a chunk of that few hundred grand, I'll find a product to sell to you and I guarantee I'll treat you right!

Try a google search using the logic functions

"Mobil ATF 3309" + purchase will turn up a store in the second hit. the first is a mobil product spec page.

Good advice Gregory. I buy/collect records and for instance if I Google "Beatles love me do 45 for sale",it will pull up stores who have that particular 45 for sale instead of various internet blogs and sites.

A web page isn't a measure of any sort, it's just a web page. Even if companies wanted to sell product they'd have to make sure that a business process was set up to use a web page. A lot of companies just seem to use the internet as kind of a yellow pages, where the ad might really be three years out date, meaning that they've been sold to another company who also has outdated 'yellow page ads' on the internet, etc.

I saw some Lubro Moly at a local Napa store a few months ago. But haven't seen any since. It came and went pretty fast. That was the only store I saw it at.

I stopped in at Napa again today, and saw they got a new batch of Lubro Moly in. $37 a gallon, or $10+ if you want a quart-size container. Very popular stuff. It flew off the shelf last time.

I guess I just hit my limit this week. It has been one thing after another with companies that do not know how to sell their products! It like enough already how and heck did you ever get so large and not know the first thing about marketing or sales??? I had one young man come to my house to sell me a Kirby. I ended up giveing the kid leasons on the fine art that is sales! So then I made him role play with me! I can not believe I was giveing a young kid leasons on how to sell! It was like they sent this kid out on the streets with no training and shaky product knoldge and almost no knoldge of the competitors products!
