I am not sure whether there is topic about this already.
What is with LED lights on JEEP Wranglers? I saw several times one JEEP in neighborhood and every time when car approaches me, I literally could not see anything. I though that guy just installed some cheap LED lights. However, I noticed more and more of JEEP's with same lightning and figured that that must be OEM equipment.
Now, I do note expect that Chrysler uses best supplier in business, but this is ridiculous.
Anyone noticed same issue? I mean Audis have LED and other cars, but usually they are even less aggressive then HID lights.
Anyone knows what they use? Any indication that this is known issue?

Its pretty annoying. I do agree.

Its even worse when some army mechanic owns one and they're driving around with what oddly looks like the newer LED HMMWV lights. That are SUPER bright

None of my business though.

The cars that came with HID lights from the factory have HID housings.

The ones you saw in the Jeep are basically someone that think they look cool.

They should replace the housings as well as the bulbs or else they'll blind people.

Problem is that my neighborhood is typical suburban neighborhood. Very little street lights so they do not light peoples rooms, so streets are dark. When JEEP with these lights come to my direction, it is like white/blue wall. I literally cannot see anything, though my astigmatism also makes things worse.

Actually I would say I saw so far like 20 JEEP's with exactly same lights. That is why I think this is OEM now, or it is some really popular aftermarket package.

Not sure man, but I know one thing, every time I see one of those I turn on high beams. I simply do not care anymore.

Stock lights are not LED. More than likely the one you saw has replacements, the Jeep may have a lift, and they are not aimed correctly.

I though that. But, I saw like 20 of them with same lights. I did some research and it seems that there is OEM LED upgrade when you are purchasing car, available starting 2015 model. I was thinking actually to stop this guy and actually tell him I am going to report his license plates if he does not address this. But then saw like I said, probably 20 of them and figured that must be OEM.
I just cannot believe that it is done that poorly.

There are LED lights by MOPAR that can be owner or dealer installed. They are not factory as of yet. Incorrectly aimed lights on lifted vehicles are a pain to say the least.

Could be. Though this JEEP I see regularly is not lifted.
I will just have to stop that guy and ask about that.

They do NOT. Fiat/Chrysler does not use the best in the field, looks like some hack job made them on a "retrofit" forum. Toyota and especially BMW use the best.

The LEDs are not factory optioned on the wrangler. Pretty popular upgrade since the 07+ wrangler headlights are horrible compared to the older sealed beam.

Obviously we're dealing with Chrysler, so hit or miss, but the 97, 01 04 TJ Wrangler and current 00 Cherokee have EXCELLENT headlights.

Factory sealed beam style. The cherokee has $5 clearance headlights on it after it went for a swim.

I agree. A friend has a 2013 Wrangler Sahara and unless the car is fairly clean, they don't work very well.

And I find the 'multimedia center' annoyingly bright at night, although it can be adjusted...

This is very popular on Wranglers with the round headlamps. Around here, everyone seems to have installed an LED light bar across the top, too. Just a passing fad, I hope.

Most of the LED housings for these are pretty poor. The Speaker ones are good, but they're pricey, and most Wrangler owners are into the look more than the functionality, so they install the low cost ones.

The beam pattern from some of these aftermarket LED housings is remarkably poor. They look cool, though. That seems to be all that matters.

Like this?

That's what Jeeps around here look like. Jacked up, big tires, perfectly clean (because they stay on road only), and all sorts of lighting accessories.

Best mod I made to my TJ's was Hella ECode (not the DoT compliant Vision +) headlights. Much improved beam patterns even with stock bulbs. I'd try that before going the LED route.

BTW Hollister is a neat town, I was just out a Frazier Lakes.
