What is the real difference between these 10w-30 motor oils?

Rotella T5 syn blend 10w-30 VS 10w-30 passenger vehicle motor oil's dino and syn blend.

I guess I'm asking can you use the Rotella T5 Syn Blend 10w-30 as you would any other 10w-30 oil that is supposed to be for passenger car use?

also I cannot find a spec sheet for the T5 that would allow a breakdown analysis to compare to conventionl or syn blend car oils.

The Rotella would have higher additive levels and TBN to handle diesel service. The Rotella would also be thicker than a regular SM/GF-4 PCMO.

I've used the previous generation of Rotella T 10W-30 in my Buick Roadmaster wagon with good success. It works well in gas cars and is a little thicker. In my 3.8L in my '01 Grand Prix I've been using Pennzoil Platinum 10W-30 in the summer months with pretty good UOA on longer OCI's. I've actually changed my wagon with the 5.7L over to PP as well (5W-30) and should have a UOA on that soon as well. I'm actually trying PU in the wagon next. One additional note on the Rotella, it has the potential to affect fuel economy since it is not designed for that. However in a low revving 3.8L (if your's has that) you probably own't notice.
