What Is The ETS Light On A 98 Mercedes SUV?

i just got a call that a friends 98 mercedes suv i think its a 320 but im not sure has a yellow light on the dash that has come on the says ETS

The warning about ABS/BAS/ETS usually associates with failing brake light switch under the brake pedal. The cost of brake light switch is about $25 at MB dealer.

My E430 had the same warning about a year ago, I changed the BLS and the warning is gone.
