What is Fram/Champ saying?

I only tried getting in touch with [email protected]. I emailed twice over a year ago now. I think they manufacture at least some of Amsoil's filters.
No response about the leak paths, my pictures showing Fram's media shedding issues, or my questions about the efficiencies of their filters. I don't buy their filters anymore.
That's going to be a dead end.

People need to email to [email protected] if they are Amsoil customers and have a problem, or have pictures, etc

Yea but the issue covers several brands. I might get around to emailing some individually at some point. Maybe I'll just be lazy and forward the original email to all of them. But honestly if a brand can't be bothered to make sure their manufacturer doesn't make a filter that's a better pipe than it is a filter, it hurts the confidence I'd have in their other decisions. It's not like this is an obscure issue at this point.

I just sent Amsoil an email stating my concerns.
Quick response! But canned. Most companies don’t respond at all. My concern was First Brand’s bad QC especially the leaf spring stamping.

^^^ So if they recognize and accept that the ratty leaf springs with ruffles is a manufacturing QA issue by Champion Labs, then I'd think someone at Amsoil would take that up with Champion Labs and say "fix it". If I was having a company make products for me with bad manufacturing QA they'd be fixing it or losing the contract. Contacts need to have a "don't meet design and manufacturing requirements" clause to make contracted manufactures put out quality products.

Pretty much what I told them in my email.

Amsoil seems like no matter what they will not publicly acknowledge the problem.

People with these filters need to dissect and present them to Amsoil as defective

None of what I write should be construed as Amsoil not taking any action. They just are not saying anything publicly. Which is pretty normal these days

I thought Fram had corrected its quality issues (the OCOD era) years ago, and that the oil filters were now pretty good.

This discouraging.

Who makes a good filter now?

I have had issues I have posted about with my ea15k04 variants and the glue which is different than the leaf springs that (seemingly) were ok in my ea15k19/13's cannisters. With that said and a sense of guilt, I've decided to NOT renew my PC membership. Amsoil is still a good company IMO, but their filter products aren't what they once were. That prior sentence hurts to type.

Give it some time. First Brands is going through bankruptcy. It will be interesting to see what happens with their filter companies.
