Hello everyone.
One question, what is a better buy, Mobile clean 7500, MotorCraft Synthetic blend or PP all in 5-30 weight?

Plan to run for 7500 miles.
Thanks.

Generally, full synthetic is better than a synthetic blend, so PP synthetic is likely better than the synthetic blends of Mobil Clean 7500 and Motorcraft. However, from Mobil's website:

"Q: Do these oils affect car warranties? If an owner’s manual recommends oil changes at 4,000 miles, will the car warranty still be in effect if I use Mobil Clean 7500?
A: Since the Mobil High Endurance Motor Oils exceed industry and car builder requirements, drivers can rest assured that their engine is well protected. As long as drivers follow the oil-change-interval guidelines set forth in their owner’s manuals, they won’t have to worry about voiding their warranties.

ExxonMobil stands behind the performance of its products. Per the guarantee listed on the back of the bottle, if a vehicle should suffer a lubricant-related problem while using Mobil Clean 7500, we will provide reimbursement for required repairs."

PP is only warranted for 4,000 miles/4 months and only covers 15 parts per their website.

I don't see that MotorCraft Oil has a warranty.

So since you plan to run 7500 mile OCI, I'd pick the Mobil Clean. Of course, there are better oils available with better warranties for longer OCI's.

All are very respectable oils. Better buy? What's double x3 plus the 900% discount that some of the guys go all out for? Dunno. One guy was buying M1 for negative dollars. PP for .29

Anyhow - 7500 miles. Do at least one UOA.

If you look at this report https://www.amsoil.com/lit/g1971.pdf MotorCraft outperforms PP in TFOUT.
PP outperforms Motorcraft in HTHS, Pour Point, TBN, Cold Cranking Visocity, and the Four Ball Wear Test.

Those test results are from August of 2005, i wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in them.

Motorcraft , is the best buy and oil for the price. What makes Penz. PP the better oil ? GPIII for twice the price?

I agree 100%.

So the "old" data might be the latest data as MotorCraft can't even keep their website up to date. Not too confidence inspiring to me... If anyone can find new data, please post.

Hey Tim, can you tell me when Amsoil is going to update the TSO 0w30 PDS up to date? It's over 2 years old now. Maybe they are testing a new formula?

Good question. The latest hard copy I have is dated 2/05 and is still listed as API SL, ILSAC GF-3, and ACEA A3/B3. The Prices Lists have it as API SM, ILSAC GF-4 and ACEA A5/B5. I'll ask them and let you know what they say.
