I recently got a 175k mile 5.7 Hemi Jeep Which im using offroad for moving stuff around. this means its randomly started for 2-10 minutes at a time. it rarely gets hot, it doesnt go above 10mph, just the worst conditions possible. i did the timing chain which was loose and slipped 1 tooth. this resulted in going from a minute of loud ticking on startup which i thought was the manifold, to the engine just being loud for about 7 seconds i assume due to a Lifter. i added Rislone to try and clean it, who knows if it will work. obviously the oil will be full of gas and moisture, im just going to do whats needed to make it last as long as possible before it blows up and then i replace it with a truck. should i just do a normal once a year full synthetic, or should i do it more often due to its current lifter issue? right now it has synthetic blend And the Rislone that went in with the chain replacement.

I did some idling on the trail for airing down/up my Jeep and got 1.6% fuel in my oil. That's all I did. Also some drives through Starbucks. In both cases my Jeep was fully warmed up. Your idling sounds a lot worse.
My viscosity dropped from 10.8 to 9.9.

So it sounds like these engines fill the oil with fuel if idling? The hottest it will ever get is moving stuff around for 20 minutes at a time so it's the worst possible circumstances for the engine.

Sorry, I forgot to say that mine is the 3.6L Pentastar, not Hemi. Hopefully Hemi is better

Can you estimate the total hours? 150 hours might be a reasonable interval. Actually your engine can’t tell how many miles it went but it does know how many hours it has run.

I could guess, the car isn't going to tell me. It has gone up like 2 or 3 miles which seems like more than the car has moved but I would guess no more than 24 hours a year or 2 hours a month, probably less than that. But all of that is in startups of 2-10 minutes most of the time, so it will never have a chance to get close to hot. The exhaust already has rust come out with the water as I'm sure water sits in there. I think it has holes too.
