Just bought this thing. Its an fx ho and noticed they had some of the linkages by the jet drive greased. Is there a special type? I bought some mercury corrosion guard to spray the whole engine down with. I used this stuff on my boat and it leaves a nice thick waxy coat. The regular silicon spray that everyone recommends just disappears after a couple hours like you did nothing

I'd use the Quicksilver 2-4-C grease. Mercury brand is the same. Marine grade and used on outboard steering and pivots.
Yeah it looked like the stuff that was on from the factory just looked like a big dab of grey liquid silicone. Apparantly this marine grade grease is a water resistant lithium grease. Not sure if any lithium grease can be used or if lithium is what makes it water resistant. You can usually get that stuff in a 14oz tube for less than $5. Regardless, I went ahead and ordered the mercury 2-4-C. Im not sure what the 2-4-C means though. It was $12 for a 8oz tube

Mercury 2-4-C is what Mercury suggests to put on propeller shafts.

But a name brand grease for boat trailer bearings would well also
Well if its good enough for a prop shaft then it should be fine for jet drive steering linkage of it ever gets here
