What GC users will try PZU before the UOAs come?

Just curious. Since GC was all the rage, I'm wondering how many of you will make the switch based on what we know, or will you all wait for the data to come in?
Same goes for any other devoted users of high-end, or "boutique" oils.
I use RP now, but if I can locate PZU anywhere but Wal*Mart, I am willing to give it a shot as I'm due now...

Why would you not buy from wal mart?

GC and PZU are different oils.

If you need/want an A3, 'Euro' style oil, you use GC.

PZU, like Edge, is an API/ILSAC EC oil.

^^ This.

If I had a car that could use an oil with PZU's specs, I wouldn't be using GC. I'd probably use Mobil 1 or something. But if I were using GC for some reason, I would switch to PZU in a heartbeat.

What I have is a car that requires specs that GC carries and PZU doesn't. Of the two, I'd pick GC.

Buzz kill, I know. Sorry.

As others pointed out, those two oils aren't exactly alternatives to each other. GC meets a bunch of mfg specs which PU won't because the way it is formulated. PU has a different market segment in mind. Not to say one is good, one is bad, just different, with a different purpose, kind of like summer tires vs. winter tires.

I received a bad UOA on GC green at 12k on an OHC v6 Explorer. There was bearing material in the oil sample. The suggestion was to cut the duration to 8K. A similar UOA with M1 showed no such problems. It's M1 for me unless something really radical comes along at a competitive price.

OK, I get that some "need" GC as opposed to just using it.
I didn't need it, but used it in my Scion until it got too difficult to find.
So, yes, I get the differences in those cases.
I DID say "Same goes for any other devoted users of high-end, or "boutique" oils." to account for such things
