Prove what? Hang around some of the Ford Truck forums, especially the Superduty section and you will see sparatic reports of new 5.4L, V10's and even 6.0 Powerstrokes grenading before even the first oil change is due. These are people using their trucks for farm, business, and daily commute driving and not WOT max limits on the engines. These are actually good engines but shows the point that Ford like anybody else puts out a turd every now and then. This guy and his mustang for using 10w30 being chastized when the final analysis has not come in is pure B*S.quote:

Can you prove your claim that Ford has had problems with the engines you mentioned. Chances are the moron who owned the car did some performance mods that caused the damage. No one here has the full story. The engineer isn't about damage control its about complying with the design standards of the product.quote:

That is the biggest bunch of bullcrap arguement I have ever heard. If the oil was not the cause, Ford sent out a turd and they (Ford) should repair it. To stand on some moral high ground to teach him a lesson if the oil was not the cause is goes against all that would be truly right. Like other have said, Ford and many other manufactuers spec higher weight oils for the same engines when used in other countries. That Ford engineer is all about damage control and anyway they can try to get out of a warranty claim right or wrong. Ford has had a spate 5.4 V8's and some of the V10's blowing rods outside the case under 3K and on factory fill oil. Ford like anybody makes a turd from time to time.quote:

How is Ford's warranty written? Is it a materials and workmanship warranty? If it is, then Ford can have any numbers they want in the book or on the oil cap, but they still have to prove that the oil caused the failure. If they can't prove that, they are obligated to provide warranty service. Paying an attorney enough to force them to prove it is another thing...quote:
