What do you think the NSA thinks about this website? I am not trying to get into a political discussion here. Do you think they find it fascinating and we could get several new members who are NSA?

I doubt any of those guys change their own oil. Except maybe the nerds in the IT programming department.

I just hope they don't realize that all of this talk about oil is really encrypted national security code.

Well I have to get back and load my 0w30 with some platinum HDEO so I give all of the unbelievers an OCOD.

I'm fairly certain they don't think anything at all about this website. Aside from a few tinfoil-hatted nutters, darn little what goes on here would be of interest to most folks.

They've got bigger fish to fry.

Doubtful. These kind of people get their rocks off by preying on people whom they deem cannot defend themselves.

They may take a look at a few of us here and say "hmm, gun freedom, check, the good ole days, check, privacy, check, small government, check, big brother, check, freedom, check, corruption, check. This is a conspiracy theory gathering that we can ignore... next"

Seriously, the people they would be interested in would not talk about all these stuff and would just stay low and get damage done. Remember, real dangerous people do not use a "site" to get message across in between them.

I bet the forums content is scanned for key words and phrases though, and IP addresses physical locations.
I'm sure our middle east members could raise a flag with a some "interesting" words.
I don't know what you would have to write to get a real person looking at your posts and then examine the contents of your computer. But if you did raise a flag and have some iffy google searches and buy some chemicals with your credit card, then buy a one way ticket to NYC, who knows what will happen when you try to board that plane!

I have actually gone to the NSA website and they used to have this interesting material on how to secure Mac OS X operating systems. They also used to have stuff on securing Windows but they seem to have dropped that stuff.

I don't know what they would think of this website. Maybe they just search for key words or where a website is located and stuff like that. They would investigate further if certain words were used at the website or the website was located in certain countries.

I don't know how they can handle so much information. All of the billions of telephone calls every day in the USA alone and all of that internet material, at least in the USA and maybe throughout the world. They are building an immense data center in Utah. That is what was said on the news.

Like I said maybe they depend on certain words appearing and with immense computing power and internet crawlers or whatever they can find key words. But the bad guys probably communicate in code. Wouldn't it be terrible if the bad guys were using motor oil terms and auto maintenance terms to communicate?

"I was being sarcastic and hoping you would leave my dirty South for your clean Chicago-land politics."

After I said this in an earlier post I thought my computer was being scanned. There was like a phase shift to my computer screen like in the movie Matrix.

They have a lot to learn from what China did in their great firewall (evil). It is likely keyword based and have to be decentralized and located in the network companies to be effective, and you need a lot of manpower to sort through the junks to find a few useful things here and there.

But if the bad guys were smart they could use all kinds of innocent looking codes, right? Like maybe they could have websites where they were supposedly discussing baking or cooking.

I remember at work I heard about this extremist website that had been reported on the news somewhere and I decided to check it out. And that website had been shut down and there was an American flag and it was stated that the site had been hacked and was now owned by the USA! I showed the guys in IT that. That was after 911.

If anything they will know which houses to raid to get oil when we run out. I would say most people on here, myself included, would be labeled as "loser" and would get no attention from them.

as for me they can look at any thing i say. i will be BOREING. " few tinfoil-hatted nutters, " just put the shiny side in.

If we did run out of oil the guys here who have the really big stockpiles of oil and the stockpiles that have the most expensive oil would have to worry first. I used to stockpile but I don't now. So the NSA would visit me last.
