What do you drain your oil into?

an open top drain pan, then into whatever proper plastic jugs I have around... usually either an oil or fuel additive jug, a milk jug or a detergent jug...

The problem is that it is not deep enough and the oil splashes out of it. I hate it.

I use that exact same drain pan, but then I transfer it into the large kitty litter jugs for transportation to the recycling site I go to. I know what you mean about the splashing though, I was trying to do an oil change today and the oil took forever to drain into the pan, it just kept bubbling back up, I realized I forgot to open the tiny little air outlet, but even when I opened it, it didn't seem to drain any faster. The first time I used it though, completely empty, it worked perfectly. I don't trust it for transportation. The last one I had (also made by Blitz, 10-quart with yellow cap) liked to leak because the big cap on top wouldn't tighten properly.

i use 2x 3L milk bottles after draining it all into a 10L pan.

yet to figure out where to take the waste oil down here, not many places seem to want it.

That is what happened to mine.

Piece of junk.

With all the sure drains on the engine that I change I just drain directly into a 12 qt jug that I bought from Wal-Mart.

With the Fumoto, I have to drain into a 6 qt pan THEN drain into the jug.

Everything goes to a recycle bin.

I drain into a 6 qrt. pan for which I transfer to a 25 gallon container with a drain spout. I have four 5 gallon paint buckets with lids that I use to transport to the Advance Auto Parts store when my large container is nearly full.

About four years ago, I was using one of the black 10- or 12-quart drainpans with the big yellow lid on top and a yellow cap on the pouring spout. Then the pan, without warning, began to leak during a change. Not a dribble, either, but a steady stream from that little spout cap. Thanks the ghods it began to do that before I put it my trunk for the trip to recycling!

I disposed of that piece of garbage, never mind how, and bought a Topsider. I would draw the oil out of the dipstick (my Benzes were designed for that), and its 8-quart metal can held the oil from my changes. Seal it up and take it to Autozone; done.

The Buick isn't designed for oil extraction, so now I have my changes done by my regular mechanic. When or if I buy ramps/jackstands and do it myself, I'll use a cheap 6-quart pan, then drain it into the Topsider can for recycling.

I use a 12 quart bucket and then empty that into 5qt jugs. I have one of those blitz containers, but they really are not very good to transport.
