Hi,
I was in walmart today, and saw the new lineup of mobil clean, clean blend, standard Mobil 1, and Mobil 1 extended.
One thing that suprised me was that the mobil clean 5000, standard conventional oil (group III I guess) not only stated its API 'S' spec on the bottle, but also its diesel 'C' spec (CD/CF). That is VERY odd for non synthetic PCMOs. In fact, I think its the only non-blend, non-syn oil that Ive ever seen that has had it listed.
Now, sure, mobil clean supposedly has more additives than its competitors, but I am curious: Would any typical API SM oil work as an API CD or CF oil, just by the nature of its mandated basestock and additive requirements? Or is it that the clean 5000 just has that good of an additive package, compared to other PCMOs that dont list any 'C' specification?
That may make it very attractive to me, looking for an enhanced additive package due to the fact that my truck sits all week, every week, and that used oil analysis always come out better with conventional than syn, especially M1.
