What Constitutes a true BITOGer

If you’ve given unsolicited oil related advice to people who could not care less.

Someone who is neurotic, OCD, who overthinks the most basic thing, basing decisions off advertising and feelings, all in the face of overwhelming empirical evidence.......

I think it is a willingness to always be a learner. After all..... the likes of API continues to live strong and change things, and it seems the EPA will continue with its death grip on killing great oil. (I still wish I could buy green German Castrol.)

I joined back in 2008 and by 2015, I felt I had learned about all there was to learn about lubricants. After 2015, I would go months without logging on and reading. Prompting me to log on was usually a vehicle acquisition. And here I am again, after purchasing a new Wrangler.

But before even logging on, I thought I had my answer before I even asked a question. I was wrong.

I had no idea what MS-13340 was.... and I had to read and learn. I had no idea that we are now to SQ..... and I had to read and learn.

Sure, I have tried many dozens of oils the past 17 years and I have my informed opinions, but I learned some things this morning.

Great BITOG'ers are lifelong learners.

Guilty……..only it’s a 25 year old beater! And 90% of the parts are NLA!

I'll see your 25 year old beater and raise you by 6.
Additionally, it's a Panther, one of the official cars of BITOG.
Full disclosure, those awful aftermarket wheel covers were removed immediately and replaced with the correct OEM ones. A UOA sample was taken and the oil/filter changed.
