What Car for your Driver’s Exam

My family's 1963.5 Galaxie. Jan 1968, one week after obtaining learners permit. Back then actual State Troopers conducted the driving tests in Pa. I had slightly scuffed the curb with a tire during the parallel parking test. I went back in the police office and he stamped my paper learners permit and handed it back to me. I think he only said goodbye. I got back in the Galaxie with my mother waiting. I hadn't even looked at the permit, certain that I had failed. Finally flipped it over and it was stamped "Passed." Zero to hero!

My family's 1981 245DL with single SU carb and 4speed+OD (stock setup for Canadian market).
Similar to the one below, but mine had the metal "commando" style bumpers and no roof rack.

1978 Dodge B200 in 2014 when I actually took the test, rode that permit out as long as I could to get away with not having to pay high insurance rates under the age of 18. It was the only vehicle we had without a cracked windshield. Because of that thing, I can drive anything no problem.

Number35 mentioned in another active thread what he drove while taking his state’s driver’s exam. What year, Make and Model did you drive for you exam?

1972 Fiat Spider
A 1975 Ford Torino 2 door. Poor visibility and was a bad car for an exam. I hit the cones and failed my first test. I would have been better off testing with the family station wagon at the time.

I took in my Parents 1973 Montego MX Brougham. Here are the only 2 pictures I have of it one is my parents pulling in our driveway and the other of an old boyfriend of my sister with the car

1996 jeep grand Cherokee limited. light green with the gold accents. put a 3.5in lift with some larger tires. i was king of the road at 16, are so i thought.

i lost the thread stumbling along thru 50+ posts. Is it:
"What car should I use for my test?"
I'd say the 1 U R most comfortable in. Did the most practice in, etc.

I was comfortable w/all my controls and seat, mirror etc. "The Guy" was
commin into MY territory, etc. I passed as we'd practiced the exact menuvers
on the exact street of the eventual test. I dont know Y I hada test again years later
(moved states? license expired w/o renewal?) but I hada drive again. I was older, more
caviler, more experienced w/traffic'n driving. Yet I flunked (touched a curb? imprecise as
we do in dallying around). I should have practiced, centered my mind B4 hand. Y? cuz I hada
pay nother fee, come back nother day, etc~

'67 Caprice. 283 w/powerglide. NJ uses a small track in a lot of locations for testing. Breezed it including parallel parking. Had a lot of experience working at the Esso maneuvering cars around the gas station before I was 17 which was the permit age then.
Went for my permit on my 17th birthday, got it and said OK let's take the test, DMV said 2 weeks wait to take the test, state law.
Talk about eternity.
