If the disk is not worn to the rivets, the pressure plate is more likely not providing adequate clamping force. For performance oriented street cars, it is perfectly OK to use a stock clutch disk for the nice anti vibration qualities, and smooth engagement, along with a pressure plate with a touch more clamping force. I do this often.
Put another way, you could go with a clutch disk that has more friction. But there is almost always a downside. As engagement and release are often more abrupt and the stronger springs transmit more engine vibration.
