What are you working on today?

2010 Accord:
-finally found time to repair the rodent damage to the KS wire. I opted to try this aftermarket from Amazon. OEM Honda has also been upgraded with special "rodent resistant tape," but reviews indicate rodents still chew both the aftermarket pictured and the Honda OEMView attachment 340533
The fuel injectors were quite stubborn. I finally resorted to progressively leveraging them out with a set of hose pliers. The shape and bend worked quite well.View attachment 340534View attachment 340535

This is where I love ginormous Q-tips: cleaning injector seatsView attachment 340536View attachment 340537

I didn't have to touch the lower intake as I was able to use long pliers to slide the old connector off the KSView attachment 340538
Anyway she runs well and no CEL, so I'll take it.
Amazing damage. I removed the engine cover on my Pilot and found mouse turds on the manifold. I guess I got off lucky.

I reco discarding all engine covers. Yes, the hood itself still provides cover but many rodents like the "extra layer" of security of the cover itself.

Engine covers and any sort of "blanket" around the battery(ies) get thrown away on my vehicles. Once they start on the hood insulation it's a slow, steady decline until that has to go, too.

I am raising a toast of Pabst Blue Ribbon to D60 from my ratty old sofa at the trailer park. (took me a half hour to drag Elmo my hound dog off tha sofa though)

Finished trimming, theres alot of that at the new place. Getting tired of it so fired the push mower up. Set for a year and the Honda right up. Don’t think I did anything to when I picked it off the street might need a tuneup though. Refilled the 8n with Mobil Delvac. Expensive but both tractors seem to do good on it. Figure its a 10-15 year fill so it’ll even out.

Pulled the other side of wheel bearings on the chore trailer. The other side was rusted up and couldn’t read any numbers. Barely read these. 4125a? 14125a seems to come up though. Not alot is coming up on the wheel seal but don’t need it I think. The outers are easy to read.

1989 K2500 5.7 for my non-profit:
-evicted a rodent house
20260601_144213.webp

-new front pads, rotors, calipers, shocks. Everything was purchased uber cheap on closeout or Warehouse Deals
20260602_171100.webp

-it got new front hoses because
20260602_132224.webp

-the existing pads were quite low. If you're a 2nd Gen Ram guy these will look familiar also
20260601_182145.webp

-step into my high tech rotor swapper area, aka a concrete floor and two short pieces of cribbing (I do use an actual thrust bearing stud installer)
20260601_181503.webp

-this shock bushing was displeased
20260602_171506.webp

-ditched the gravel keepers. Sorry not sorry
20260601_154507.webp

-also replaced the seal at the t-case tail housing but I think it's still slinging ATF. Almost surely the bushing is worn but that's a project for another day. I topped off the t-case with Valvoline Hybrid ATF 'cause it was cheap and a 241C won't know or care

-engine oil change with clearance Fram conventional 20W50 (gasp!)

Only hauled two loads of rock today but that was fine as I had plenty of other stuff to do.

Took my 94 Freightliner and 2000 Entyre trailer to the Antique Truck Historical Society National Convention in Springfield, MO. Fortunately there wasn’t a long line of trucks to get parked this afternoon so I got a spot pretty quick. I’m taking some of my detailing stuff tomorrow to shine it up a little more. It will be there through Saturday night. They are expecting around 1000 trucks from all over the country so it will really start to fill up tomorrow.

Then back home to go check on hay fields. I laid some hay down Monday evening and I’m hoping by Wednesday afternoon I can bale it.

No pics but I replaced the jackshaft bearings on the Coleman B200RSV tonight. They are notorious for failing and damaging the shaft which is hard to get right now. After 10-15 miles they were already making noise. I got a pair of Timken 6004-2RS bearings from amazon to replace them. There was minor discoloration on the jack shaft where it was just starting to try to spin in the bearings but nothing that rendered it unusable.
