:oops::whistle:
You did make a mess.

Hey what tires are those, the coopers perchance? How do you like them?

I should have been working on things that generate money but instead wound up working on our recently acquired '15 Tundra.

I modified the wiper arms to hook style
Post in thread 'Why are there so many wiper arm connection types?' https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/t...iper-arm-connection-types.391411/post-7393222

Then anchored the Weathertech mat on the passenger side with a plus nut in the floor. The floor was too thick to accept a rivnut.

Then installed rear seat covers from CoverKing with the help of the wife. Our three dogs are in the back seat most of the time -- a big reason we insisted on the CrewMax and not just a double cab (somehow our Husky is 90#)

About 90% done with the tasks for removing the donor engine for the "good" RTV. This RTV will likely be used for parts, or a long slow rebuilt if i can scavenge money to rebuild the transmission. I now have 2 blown engines and a few known good injection pumps and might be able to cobble 1 good engine together.

The Ram is heading to auction in a few weeks, some minor things to make ready. My longer term plan involves a bigger truck and a CDL.

Back at the ranch today through Saturday to monitor a very close wildfire, but thankfully the local FD and volunteers are extremely good at what they do, very appreciated.

The donor D902 engine is out. It will take me awhile to reinstall in the other machine, some other priorities need attention.

Today I helped out a friend by doing a double D and F on his 2019 Pacifica. Tomorrow I'll be eating a delicious free breakfast. 🙂

This week at work has been modifying hydro boost units mostly. I've also drilled some stainless and skimmed a set of link bars. I've looked at a couple of trucks this week, casually, at a neighbor's house. Ones a 99 GMC Sonoma, the other a 2004 F150. Considering buying one if not both of them. One could be a cheap beater, the other one a flipper. Going to discuss more with him over the weekend.

The 3.6L LLT did break a valve spring, But the valve is down in the cylinder, Removing the cylinder head tomorrow.

Customer bought a engine from LKQ, Got it installed.....Starter is dragging bad, Had to use a jump pack & finally got it started.....Runs good!

He tried to turn the locked down engine over 1 to many times & burnt the starter up, Says he thinks he can install a starter.

1985 Chevy C20......Has a LQ9 that I built & swapped in, I also built a 4L65E for it. Customer has been restoring this truck for about 5 years now & was ready to finish up the interior but said it started dying when turning the steering wheel.
Checked it out & found the issue within minutes.....The tilt mechanism hold down bolts had backed out making the column real sloppy....to the point it would pull ignition switch rod out of the run position when turning the steering wheel.

I use to fix GM/Saginaw Columns on a regular basis 20 years ago....This is the first one in a few years, Still have my tools....A Snap-on & a Mac pivot pin puller And a OTC lock plate depressor.
I have 2 pin pullers to remove both pins at the same time.

I clean the bolt holes & bolts, Apply a liberal amount of red loctite to keep this from happening again.

After several random "No Charge" messages and a noticable drop in system voltage while running accessories on cold mornings, I decided it was time to tackle the alternator on my Seville. Yes... the dreaded Northstar alternator job!

I was working really slow today and managed to get it done in a couple hours. It's really not difficult nor cramped, just a bit inconvenient. I managed to find a NOS GM remanufactured in the USA alternator on eBay for a great price, I just couldn't trust what was available aftermarket when the job is a pain to redo.

As a reward, I installed the STS wood console trim I finally found on eBay. I've had a saved search for one since buying the car, I can't stand the way the SLS console looks covered in vinyl.

Adding sea foam to the non ethanol fuel and running all the OPE for a few minutes.

Covering the outside A/C unit for the fall/winter.

Pulling out the Woods 64” PTO driven snowblower to grease all the zerks, adjusted chain tension on the idler sprocket, changed out the gearbox 80w90 to 75w90. Takes 1/2 quart.

Changed the belt on the Subaru. It has been making a little noise when it's humid or getting cold out.

Looking at the old belt, it didn't even look bad. I have a theory though. When I pulled it off the writing was "backwards" and I'm guessing it was put on that way when they replaced the engine. I've known belts to do this, my only thought. Oh well, it was $40 for an OEM Subaru made in Japan belt.

One casualty though. I managed to break off the tab mount on the engine/intercooler cover. Put some epoxy on and letting it sit overnight, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to spend the $130 for a new one.

Remove the belt and spin all of the pulleys by hand; you probably have a bad pulley somewhere.

Strange vehicle came home this weekend, trip next week. Miss driving it, drives and rides pretty good. Cleaning it up and few repairs, down on the property is a little rougher on it. Unfortunately the mice got in for a couple weeks till I found a spray that seems to work. Had to clean out the front vents since they got in there. Removed the 2nd water tank and free’d up some room, had a little mold in it. Finally pulled the rear tires off and cleaned out the Alaskan mud. Last changed the oil 6/24 but only 4k so will do that when get back.
