What are you working on today?

2003 Ford F-150 5.4 2wd
Replaced front brake pads and rotors, repacked front wheel bearings, replaced idler arm, changed oil

1988 GMC Sierra 1500 2wd
Started a clutch replacement job. Got the transmission out, removed old clutch and flywheel, and took the flywheel to the machine shop to be surfaced. I'll pick the flywheel up tomorrow but may not put the truck back together until next week. Awfully cold.

2006 Expedition, new interior door handles on both front doors. Note duct tape on old:

Got the clutch installed in the '88 GMC and socked the transmission in it. I still have to re install the shifter and change the fluid. NV3500 5 speeds don't take gear oil, they take either Synchromesh or ATF, this one is overfilled with gear oil. I'll finish it tomorrow.

2016 GMC Terrain 2.4 Ecotec
Replaced the high pressure fuel pump, changed oil.

Had car evaluated, I am getting new VTC actuator, timing chain, timing kit parts. Gonna go ahead and have the # 4 service done along with coolant, tensioner replacement, belt, oil, filter. Will take it in Friday morning and by the time it comes back i will have almost entire new everything. Hoping to have some pictures again with valve cover off.

Two fold project over the last four days.. Installing new Lorex cameras and tidying up the mess of cables around the house. Installed 6 4k cameras… 2 2 lens, 4 cameras with 2 way audio and one cheap one for inside the house. Ran new Cat5e to the each location resulting in the mess below. After that was done pulled out all the old combo coax cables and at least 6 old network cables. Its hard not to be old school and just use wifi. Got these shortened to just a service loop but can’t find the velcro so maybe that pic will surface someday. Still another couple days of work. Alot of wire management 😂 Trying to make the house less scary.

Replaced the connector for the pad wear sensor on the Dadwagon. It was raining outside and I put it off long enough anyway. Connector broke right where it slid into the metal bracket. Exposed wires shorted together on the metal and threw the worn pad light. End of connector was molded into the end of the wiring harness and had to be cut out. Broke my new de-pinning tool in the process, but got it all back together and looks factory with heat shrink over the entire repair.

This one was a bit of a head scratcher for me (although I regularly try to pull on doors clearly labeled PUSH, so.....)

A local engineering firm brought me an '06 Trailblazer. One of the requests was to "please make the godd**n door panels fit right again." I gathered our local automotive audio shop (read: 16-year-olds who like to THUMP YO) had removed all the panels. I don't know why -- maybe new speakers although the head unit is stock.

The top of every door panel was no longer anchored.

This put the entire job on the interior handle bezels, and all four were broken. It looked terrible, and I found a Ziploc bag of all the broken bezels in the rear of the vehicle:

It was clear to me the panel wasn't slipping over the window opening or window sweep, and we all know 90% of panels do -- it's usually the last place you lift off during removal and the first place you slip on during install.

I FINALLY determined they had inexplicably removed all the interior window sweeps and installed them backwards.

Once I flipped it over, everything went back beautifully. @dogememe
