The fine art of F-body dashboard repair
crc gdi cleaner and a huge softball sized wasp nest. Soaked, no survival flyers, and i lit it on fire to make sure. That pea additive proved its worthiness. Good times!!

Have you just tried the CRC chlorinated? That's my go-to for wasps, but I wouldn't light it on fire

1993 Chevrolet Suburban 4wd with bad engine and transmission
Pulled a good rear end out of it, 3:73 with Eaton locker, same code as a 98 Z71 that needs a rear end. Then pulled the intake and valve covers.

2015 GMC Acadia, LLT 3.6L/6T70E, 104,xxx miles. Bank 1 Intake Phaser wouldn't lock causing a cold start rattle. Timing set was in good shape & the owner takes good care of it.
Priced out just doing the 1 Phaser, But the owner he didn't want to go back in there for another 100K, All 4 Phasers, Guides, Chains, & Tensioners using GM parts.

changed out the cp4 for a DCR pump on my truck. Included the low pressure line set on the engine. Had to change both discharge lines from the pump to the drivers rail also, different bends. Sorry no progress photos was working quickly under time pressure
If I had more time I would have gave the intakes a good cleaning but not enough time.
I’ll take the cp4 apart next week to see how it looks

Brake flush, new agm battery, finished brake job the other day and drop off old coolant and brake fluid at county haz waste site. Learned they will take my old rotors too.

Old R-22 system finally gave up (refrigerant boiling off early due to leak).
Time for a new system, not bad for 30 years. $8500 for an 16 SEER Lennox. There are more efficient models but the 16 seems to be the most reliable and proven according to the tech.

Unfortunately, with all of the EPA regs, the new ones will only last half as long as your old one if you're lucky. It is crazy how much they cost now too. I paid 3k for same seer on a 3.5 ton 5 years ago.

Greedflation. The cost of everything has gone up post covid and not necessarily just to economic and supply chain pressures, it's big business cranking up the price because no one will stop them if everyone else is too.
Spare tire mounted. Getting easier but think I’ll get some spoons to make getting it on easier. Also need to figure out a way to blast air. Beads don’t seem to seal right away but if I pump it up and wait a few it will.
I got one of those bead seater tanks and it's quite effective
I got a duckbill kit for my manual tire changer and really like it. Some good tire mounting lube helps a lot, too. Much better than soapy water.
Repainted the sun bleached body side moldings on the wife's car. Started on the driver's side too. I had painted them at least 6 years ago. This color and finish is a better match than before. The color on the bumpers was always a little different. I'll hit them this time too.
