New Sachs front struts on '10 Venza. I didn't realize (some?) of the Sachs stuff was made in US but these had a sticker declaring USA COO
Sometimes I run into problems with "coarse" springs on my old Branick. Basically I'll run out of travel and the carriage will hit the lower arm supports:
I've always wanted to make spacers for the upper arms on the carriage, and there are slotted holes which appear to be for just this purpose.
I decided on hole spacing of 1.750" and tapped some steel stock 5/16-18. I did 1", 1.25 and 1.5" and also 1x2 on edge making for a 2" spacer. 1" thick shown here:
