What are the symptoms of a torn EGR gasket?

I am curious to know if a bad EGR gasket can dictate idle issues such as vibration or rough idling? I removed my EGR to clean today, because I will be taking my car to get smogged soon. I noticed there was gasket material missing at the EGR next to the mounting bolt hole and there was carbon all the way down that tear and by that bolt hole. I do have vibration at idle but no codes or vac leaks (brand new engine mounts as wel). I did spray throttle cleaner all over my vacuum lines (doing a once over before smog) and didn’t get a change in idle to verify if I were to have a vac leak.

Just changed an egr a few minutes ago. Does the gasket tear run all the way from the outer edge to the cut out holes? A new gasket is only $2-3 if you believe it's leaking. Did you get an egr code thrown?

My car didn’t throw any codes. The tear was was from the pintle hole to the right side mounting bolt hole.

I bought a Fel-Pro one yesterday and spend almost 6 hours cleaning the old gasket off. The car is a 2001 model and almost 20 years of heat cycling darn near welded that gasket to the EGR lol.
