OK guys I'm looking to replace the oil in my 69 Bug's transaxle, its factory specified for a 80w90 GL4. Is there a specific Amsoil product that I might want to use? Any advice is appreciated

Just remembered I have two accounts, one at home and one at work sorry.

Yep England, before I started visiting this site I had barely even heard of Amsoil but after a good while of reading posts by yourself and others I became pretty impressed with it all and especially after I looked into the company directly, so I thought I would get the very best for my very best

Only problem is its limited availability here.

It would appear they have switched allegiance to Red Line, its OK though because these guys www.opieoils.co.uk sell it and they are a great company.

I'm not an expert on the late water cooled VW's, were talking a Passat right? My dad had an 02 TDI and its the best car he ever had before his current 2012 BlueMotion that is

The VWs used hypoid gears for the final drive back then.
They usually require a GL5 spec.
But being lightly loaded, a GL4 may suffice.
