So what about using High-Temperature High-Pull Samarium-Cobalt Magnets which are extremely strong, on the ends of your filter to pull out any Ferrous metal and retain it there from circulation?
I have a Filter Mag, but have access to this grade of magnet for next to nothing and was thinking if it might be better.
I catch quite a bit of fine residue with my Filter Mag so I know magnetics are a good idea, but what about this powerful of a magnet.
Here are the specs on the magnets:
Temperature resistance -40° F to +572° F
Magnetic Pull Grade: 17
Also is it possible to pull any additives out of an oil with this magnet, anything Ferrous in engine oils? I don't think so, but in case I missed something...
