Its a war. But, everyone is afraid to declare a war on criminals. Its easier to attack the victims and innocents. Be aware, very aware, and plan your 'defense'.

Yup! @mk378 did just that. Judge and jury and even raw conjecture this victim had a gun in his backpack....not relevant to the matter even if he did. Sad when people stoop to this low level. This guy was in his home garage and did zero to bring this upon himself.

You're judging him for not carrying a gun at all times and being prepared to shoot back. A person needs to choose their battles, two against one and armed against unarmed is not a good one to fight. What was his expected end game, somehow he's going to take the backpack back?
