My second home is Italy, and the countryside is dotted with charming little places like this. My favorite was a rustic home in Tuscany near Siena. While I couldn’t afford it, my first thought was about the village’s remote location—if you needed hospital care, it would be at least an hour or more away. 😒

Let's slow down and appreciate some weirdness:

The "media center" is obviously staged with a throwaway baby TV, and room for a bigger one. But what's with those glass cabinets overhead? What goes there? DVDs? Booze? Why's there a landline phone right by the TV? "Excuse me, I've got to take this call."

Are those three thermostats off to the left? Is this some sort of home automation?

The decor reminds me of a long-stay hotel, all grey and square.

I dig the radiator frenched into the wall.

What's the catch?

Not so sure yet. My old lady and me are headed to Italy in May. One of our purposes is to look into owning a second home there. Not sure as it is only speculation from a friend's family but there are some incentives for those that can prove to the government Italian roots. I got that one covered! That same friend we are loosely speaking about buying separate homes in the same region.

One of them is probably to control the hot water. I know because I started messing with one at our AirBnB and turned it off lol.

The other 2 are probably the AC unit and circuit breaker panel (the large one). I've noticed in Europe the CB panel is by the front door usually.

You will be forced to buy fresh food and eat tasty meals.

I think that sliding door/ window is the only entry. The bathroom's in the back. Probably shares a wall with another unit on the backside. That Davenport would have to have a pull-out mattress.
