What $1.2m gets you in apple valley,Ca

I like the home. Put it in my area and it is worth $450k. Sand and tumbleweed just don't appeal to me at all.

The “pool cage” is common here. Screens (not glass) allow you to enjoy the outdoors (pool and Lanai) without bugs. I love it.

As a previous buyer and homeowner in Apple Valley, I'm not seeing it. I would be shocked if they get anywhere close to the asking price. Sure it's California, but the high desert of San Bernadino County does not command prices like the more desirable areas.

Looks like $8k/yr currently which is not too bad. But once it sells, the assessed value will go up together with the tax.

Apple Valley...drugs galore. I had a GF there, but not a great place to be. San Bernadino is a dying city and the county not far behind.

This sort of 1M house in the middle of nowhere is not for a working class people. It is probably a builder's project to build something with spare crew time and material at cost, when he can get a cheap land might as well build it kind of thing.

There is no demand out there, and the only way it is going to worth that much is to sit on it till urban crawl hit the area and the land can be turned into a lot of suburb homes.

Maybe someone will sit on it and live in it for 30 years and wait that out. Not for most people.
