When the "Duck" was designed, a few requirements had to be met: the suspension had to be able to carry a basket with raw eggs across a ploughed field without breaking any eggs, the car had to be able to carry four people or two people (with their hats on) plus 100 kg farm goods, and it had to get 90 mpg. The 2CV was not a bad or unreliable car. Slow? 0-60 in ca 1 minute. Still, generations of students got to class in one on time.

Gonna revive this thread.

This was DD until I bought the Civic in 2004. Then it went into semi-retirement and driven usually once a week or in snowstorms

I sold it this past September with 120K miles. It had an easy life with Castrol 5W-30 dino changed every 3K miles but used Fram

filters. It was before I discovered this site and saw the light.
