30 degrees with a 40mph wind out of the north prompts Coot to forego taking a picture of the underhood area just to satisfy the voyueristic tendencies of those present.
But, in the spirit of the season, Coot will post a stock photo of the engine nestled between the fenders that provides motorvation for the pert' near 5,000 pound total weight of the truck and all that rests upon and within it.
Surprising how well the critter accelerates. The 3.73 gears must have something to do with the more-than-adequate-to-Coot acceleration. And, there is a nifty exhaust purr at idle and during acceleration. Not loud, no aftermarket idiocy so my noise invades folk's domiciles or disturbs the peace.
4.8 liters. 4,800 cubic centimeters. 284 cubic inches of volumetric efficiency from the generation III Vortec internally combusted propulsion device with a separate coil for each plug of spark and an athletic injector of fuel for each chamber of combustion. Accompanies the masculine tread of the new tires quite nicely.
Feast thine eyes upon what seems to be a mighty-fine engine.
Since Coot is here anyway... groove on the cheap plastic logo adorning the front grille structure:
Here's the wheel deal. None of that wimpy alloy stuff for Coot. Real steel wheel deal:
If truck rolled on its side this is what the tail light would look like, if looker was upright:
