20mpg empty highway, 17 combined all day long. You can keep your econoboxes.. That front grill guard has gone through 2 elk and 3 deer and STILL looks straight.
It was the missing part when I bought the car, I kept only filled that up 1/2 way. Now it seems that no matter what the situation is that when I brake or accelerate quickly with it filled past 3/4 it occasionally will leak a bit of washer fluid and leave a blue streak on my white hood. I haven't had to stop by a u-pull type yard for anything yet or I'd have one a cap on there, along with a spare starter and alternator. ...Maybe a stock lug wrench as my portable folding one doesn't provide much leverage, new gearshift and parking brake knobs as they were gnarled slightly by a dog before I got the car, maybe clutch pedal and brake pedal covers if they look newer than mine, can you tell that I love cars that are plentiful in junkyard parts? ...I digress, maybe I'll wash my car and take a picture of the rusty spots too for the before picture before I sand those down and work some primer/touch-up, hopefully I can take care of some of that before it gets too cold to paint.
I don't know how to post pictures like you guys do - directly on the post so here are the URLs. I just got done washing the exterior.
This is my first car (purchased in Sept of 2004 with 6,000 mi). I have a goal of taking it to 400,000 miles. I average in the high 30s (38) MPG on my daily drives. She has GC Gold 0w30 in crankcase and currently Royal Purple ATF in the tranny. I wash her at least once a week as I drive 220 miles every day to and from work. And thats bout it.
