The drop behind the car was only about 1000 feet down.

The car was about 30 feet from the ledge behind it in this picture. I also did not reverse. The car was on the "road" there. I came from the right and turned the car slightly left. After I took the picture I turned a bit right and went forward to drive the serpentine road down into the valley.

This car is not fly-by-wire. Even the throttle is operated by cable linkage.

No, some French exchange students did. I was the one working on the cooling system and high to low voltage DC conversion system.

Plug in hybrid back in 96/97, 1.0L 3 banger and a 100hp electric motor. 0-60 under 10 seconds, 80 miles per gallon under EPA driving condition and power plant conversion factor.
