Weird Unexpected Email Address

I had been emailing back and forth with a friend of mine, and, all of a sudden, a new email address showed up as her address when she sent me a email using her iphone.

mitten.sell0ATicloud.com

She has never seen this address before. What is going on here?

That is probably her apple email? maybe ask her? we would just be guessing.

Happens to my friend. He didn't even know he had an icloud.com email address. He can't keep hi email addresses straight. I email him to his Gmail and get a reply from his cloud email. He denies it. Whatever.

Tell your friend go to the mail settings on her iPhone and set her Gmail to default account

I don't have a icloud address that I know of. How would I find out if I have one?

Your Apple Account ID page should show if you have an icloud.com email address. For example, I have an iPad but I do not have an icloud.com email address.

Why would her email show up on your apple account?
She has iPhone
Her phone probably gets all her email but sends/replies with her apple email.

Fairly normal thing to happen.

If they were responding by email via an iphone, they could have accidently clicked "hide my email" and sent it using an icloud email instead of their normal gmail. Has happened to me a couple of times before.

That’s just a hide my email address. It’s a service included in the users iCloud+ membership. In short, it’s an email masking service Apple give out to all of their iCloud+ users (people who pay for iCloud storage). It’s a very useful function for when you don’t want to give out your actual email address.

Have the user go to Settings -> Click on their name at the top -> Click on “iCloud” in the middle. -> Scroll down and click on “Hide My Email” under “iCloud+ Features”. There they can see all of the throw away email addresses they have created. They can also permanently disable specific email addresses that are getting spammed from there.
