Weird AC problem: it's cold at idle, but not cold when driving

2003 Impala 3800

Right side always blows cold air, left side is cold when idle but not when revving/moving. The fan only works at speed 3 or higher (out of 5)

It has the dual zone manual AC (driver and passenger can set their own temperatures), but both were at the coldest setting.

Drivers side temp door actuator going out ?

Or you have a R134A leak somewhere and it's getting low ?

Fan issue could be your blower motor resistor going out or a fan switch.

your gonna need a diagnostic check imho...it can be leak check with red dye,,take it to a service center ...

The evaporator is located on the passenger side of the dash
The farther you get from the evaporator, the warmer the air will be
Anecdotal experience has taught me that if it's a major left/right temperature split, and it's not a controller/blend door issue, it's low charge
Check the charge, it might just need a slight top off
I'd also do the blower motor resistor, because I like having all fan speeds available

I had it happen, and they replaced the evaporator. It would blow intermittent cold and hot air.
